Cleanup The Keys

On Feb 18th!!

Key West Captains and Conch Republic Marine Army Join Forces for Mangrove Cleanup

Key West Captains, a group of experienced boat captains dedicated to protecting the Florida Keys ecosystem, and the Conch Republic Marine Army, a non-profit organization committed to restoring the health of the Florida Keys' marine environment, are excited to announce a joint volunteer venture to clean up the mangrove forests on February 18th, 2025.

The mangrove cleanup will focus on removing debris and trap lines from the vital mangrove habitat. Volunteers will work alongside experienced captains and marine conservationists to make a tangible difference in the health of the Florida Keys ecosystem.

Why Mangroves Matter

Mangrove forests are essential to the health of the Florida Keys. They provide habitat for a wide variety of marine life, protect coastlines from erosion, and help to filter pollutants from the water. Unfortunately, mangroves are under threat from pollution, development, and climate change.

How to Get Involved

Volunteers of all experience levels are welcome. Boats and equipment will be provided, but volunteers are encouraged to bring their own reusable water bottles and gloves.

To sign up for the mangrove cleanup, please complete the Volunteer Registration form below!

If you are unable to volunteer, please consider making a monetary donation. Every little bit helps!
